The Gift Girl (a fairy-tale)

Once upon a time there lived a girl who dreamed things into being.  When she was just a baby her parents started finding something new in her crib every morning.

After a while there wasn’t enough room for all the dreamed things so she began giving them away as gifts.

It wasn’t long before a wicked old woman heard about the girl and her gift.  She devised a plan to capture her so she could become rich.  It worked!  As soon as the girl was locked away the old woman began telling story after story about gold and jewels until the girl fell fast asleep.

Maybe this girl could have helped herself by dreaming of a key but she didn’t.  In the morning there was a dove in the cage with her.  The dove was so pure and good that it melted the old woman’s cold heart and she set the girl free.

The End

  1. LOVED YOUR FAIRY-TALE AND THE ILLUSTRATIONS. SOUNDS LIKE IT COULD BE DEVELOPED FURTHER, BUT OF COURSE IT IS A PERFECT FIT FOR THE LITTLE (COLORING) BOOK.
AS A TEACHER I LOVE YOUR IDEAS AND CREATIONS. I THINK YOU ARE “THE GIFT GIRL”. THANKS AGAIN.
