Jots about the bird…
- It’s a House finch.
- Just the males are red.
- It’s is my favorite bird lately.
- He looks like he is hiding behind that branch.
- Ironically, he is nesting in a decorative eagle above my garage!
- It is a single engine propeller plane.
- Mr. Doodles and Jots wouldn’t get into that plane if his life depended on it.
- Airplanes stay in the air through lift primarily generated by wing shape.
- I have a hard time accepting that any plane can stay in the air.
- Planes seem like they are moving slow until you try to catch a picture!

Oh I love these Finches! They are so sweet and what a great picture!!

Thanks! They tweet sound sweet too.
I love that house finch! Will your kids keep a nature journal? You seem to notice so many great birds in your area! It’s my dream for my kids to notice birds and to ID them and keep a journal. I think it might just end up being me though!

I may do a printable for one – it might get my kids interested but my daughter says she wants to make a fish journal and my son a doggy journal!
LOVE THE PHOTOS, BEAUTIFUL. BEAUTIFUL DELICATE COLORING ON THAT BIRD. I LOVE FINCHES TOO.

Would love to get more photos of these but they always fly away! Hopefully I will get a picture of their eggs soon!
I’M WITH “MR DOODLES AND JOTS”. I’D RATHER LOOK AT YOUR BEAUTIFUL PHOTO OF THAT PLANE THAN BE IN IT. THOUGH IT’S PROBABLY A BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE I’LL FIND MY FUN ON THE EARTH AND BE CONTENT TO SIMPLY BREATH THE AIR.

I don’t mind small planes as long as there is no turbulence!
