Here is the latest visitor to our bird-feeder. A small, noisy squirrel who is not afraid at all! He reminds me of Beatrix Potter’s Squirrel Nutkin with his bright red tail. I suppose the birds can share seeds with this cute little fella, don’t you think?!
I love watching squirrels run across the street with their bouncey tails going up and down. Check out this cool animation I found …
And here is the book…
The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin by Beatrix Potter
Beatrix Potter brings cute yet dignified animals to life by giving them human qualities. I love the magical world she created in her small books with relatable and entertaining lessons for children. This one is about Squirrel Nutkin, who learns that bothering an owl isn’t very wise!

This was great! We don’t have squirrels here so it was a real treat. Great closeup shot too.

Thanks! No squirrels in Hawaii – interesting!
I liked the animation too! And he’s such a cutey. (: We’ve been seeing some around here, really young ones with scraggly young tails…
