With this photo I am participating in Maui Shop Girl’s Just Another Photo Challenge link up. The theme for this week is “Peaceful”. In her photo she is gazing up to a palm tree from Hawaiian sand and 5 thousand miles away I am gazing down at my son’s hand in Cape Cod sand! I love sand. This sand is so fine and pure it feels good in your hand and when you walk in it you sink down and the sand quickly fills the holes but leaves behind perfect peaks and valleys. It is especially nice when it’s warm on your skin but this photo was taken in the winter with mittens off for a moment. Can you see his cold red knuckles? He had cheeks to match!

Oh sand … winter, summer, whatever the season, it just feels wonderful.

True!!!
You must live really close to the beach (taken there or in a sandbox?) to take this photo in the winter! Anyways, what an interesting photo. Never seen before. Kinda eerie. Kinda mysterious. Visiting from MauiShopGirl.

If you live on Cape Cod you are always pretty close to the beach but we do have to drive there. We like to go off season just to explore. There is not a whole lot to do around here! Thanks for stopping by!!!
Beautiful photograph and capture of a moment. Makes me miss the ocean. I think I need to go again soon. Your sand is so pure looking!

We need to too, before it gets cold!
Love the sweet hand in the sand. I do the same, the feel of sand between our fingers and toes is so freeing.
Sand is also not that easy to get a good shot of! Mine always come out quite dark. Bravo…great simple shot that reminds all of us how it feels to be on the beach with our families.
Thanks for joining in Ann! I really appreciate it!

Thanks, you know after I uploaded it I thought it looked a little dark. I ended up not bothering to edit it because I thought it would wash out the hand. Thanks for the fun link up and the excuse to use that photo I have been meaning to use for months!
There is something very peaceful about running fingers or feet through the sand. Great photo!
So agree, it’s calming.
Wow. I love this photo. It would make a great framed picture!

Thank Kris, I like it too : )
You can’t tell that it’s cold outside! When I see sand, I just assume that it’s blazing hot! I like your photo! I hope your son didn’t get too cold doing that shot! I bet he likes playing in sand in the cold too!
