Painting on Slate Stepping Stones with Water
The other day it started to rain and I saw this…
And it made me think of trying this…
Do you have slate stepping stones? Why not try painting on them with water. Turned out to be a fun little activity for a crisp fall day! It’s cool watching your paintings disappear too.

Your water painting made me smile so much! Beautiful!!! Love the way you see the world and turn the everyday into a springboard for art.
Thanks, Eliza, such a nice thing to say!
This is great!

I like the idea of photographing them, too! These are fun, and wonderfully mess-free.

Thanks, yah, you need to photograph them to save them!
That is the CUTEST. Wish my brain and hand could work together to make such neat patterns – but I’ll definitely store this idea away!
You rock.

Thanks, it was!
Love this! What a fun idea! (Wish I had slate!) Love that kids can create, and then it leaves no mess behind like sidewalk chalk would!

Love this idea! If you don’t have stones or walkway like this you could use water and paintbrushes on a chalkboard too. Though I think anything is better outside.

You’re so creative, Ann. I bet your kids can’t wait to play with you each day!
