Next week the cuddliest boy in the world will turn 5 years old. He is truly the cuddliest boy. He insists on at least a hundred hugs from me a day. And they are the full-body wrap-around monkey-style hugs. Sometimes he will say “care for a hug”, sometimes he will say in the middle of the day “let’s go cuddle in bed together (sometimes and read books sometimes not)”, but usually he just climbs all over me. In fact, guess where he is right now, my lap of course. Oh and occasionally he wants me to pick him up and do the “lovey dance”. Yup, the cuddliest boy!
I still see him as a baby but occasionally I will glance at him and see this mature young man and I think where did HE come from?! Aside from the cuddling, his hobbies include building Lego vehicles (especially Star Wars), building virtual environments with Minecraft on his new Kindle Fire, and playing stuffed animals with the best playmate in the whole world, his big sister. He was especially excited to get Pepper for Christmas because as he explained, he can now play American Girl Dolls with her.
BTW, why no American Boy doll?
Many of the things he says and does amuse me to no end. For example his current Minecraft building has a kissing room for him and his sister. When I kissed him the other day he told me he loves the smooching sound.
With his new ukulele he likes to strum and sing the cutest little repetitive songs about everyday things.
Lately he loves Gingerbread folk and wants to collect all the books. Future hoarder? Possibly, but I know he will be an organized one. I love how if he will put a toy he is currently playing with under his chair at meal time. He is also a future world traveler and prefers the adult version of National Geographic. He wants to go to Australia to see a platypus and Ireland with his grandpa to just explore. He’s also happens to be a pretty funny guy. When I asked him what he wants to be when he grows up this morning he said a police so he could eat donuts!
He is also extremely sensitive. If he gets frustrated and says something not so nice to his sister, HE will be the one to cry. And one of his biggest worries in the world is where he will live when he grows up; with me or on his own so he can have a dog.
I love his drawings which he creates with markers only, never crayons. He does not have an intense interest in art like his sister but when he does create he usually has a story to go with it.
The last thing he always says to me at bedtime is “make me a nice breakfast in the morning” and the last thing I always say to him when he goes to preschool is “make me a nice craft today”. Good thing Mr. Doodles and Jots is not a jealous person because I really do have a special thing with this little guy!
