I Spy: Clocks

dandelion clocks

I saw a neighbor’s lawn that was covered with dandelion seed thingies.

Confession time…  I don’t know the names for anything and always look them up.  These thingies are called blowballs or clocks.  So there you go.  This neighbor is either very sad to have a lawn like this or very happy if he likes to make wishes or likes dandelions in his salad.

  1. Never heard them called clocks…they are everywhere in the fields near where I live and hence they “blow” over into my yard faster than I can get them out. Funny thing is that where I used to live many people used to walk up and down the block collecting them for tea and salad

  2. Heee hee. We live in a condo… so we don’t take care of a lawn. So my son and I LOOOVE seeing these things. :) I know they’re a pain for everyone else, but we just like blowing them. :) So fun!
