Calling All Crows

calling all crows

I spy crows!

This morning on the way to school we saw like every crow on Cape Cod take flight and I wondered if they had been summonsed by the hoopoe like in “The Conference of the Birds”.

I won a copy of The Conference of the Birds adapted by Alexis York Lumbard and illustrated by Demi as part of a kids book prize pack for commenting the most at Pragmatic Mom.  I do love her site!

It is a beautiful book based on a Persian poem/parable.  In it all the birds gather and organize a journey to find a would be king.

This time of year lots animals start acting strange! Have you noticed? Please share!

    • That is so cool!
One time a long time ago I cam home and found a mile long trail of itty bitty ants through my house and up to my butter dish. It would have been really cool if it wasn’t thoroughly disgusting!

  1. Mama, a coyote? Scary.

The bees are especially crazed here. I think they get crazed because they are getting ready to die?

The stink bugs are sleeping (they are so uber yuck).

The birds are flying south. My neighbor has a number of bird feeders, so we see some amazing birds. Blue Jays, cardinals, doves – but alas, no crows.

    Thanks so much for sharing!

Also, very cool win! I love Pragmatic Mom’s site. She is my blog idol. She is so great!

    • It is great to have a neighbor with a bird feeder. You get to enjoy the birds and not have to keep filling the feeder : )
