Fall Standouts

The foliage is in all stages of change here. This year the colors are especially saturated. Cape Cod usually doesn’t get intense color like other parts of Massachusetts. It is definitely a standout year!

Here are a few of my favorites from around town…

fall ornaments

I like how the birch trees lose their leaves in such a uniformed way. They are currently adorned with just the right amount of pretty yellow hearts.

burning bush

The burning bushes are starting to heat up with a crazy sort of neon fuchsia.

And the dogwoods that line the main street near our house look like rainbows!

What are the standouts in your neighborhood? Please share!

  1. I love the silver birch, that illustration is a beauty and I want it on my wall. We have lots of burning bush around us which is very bright, rainbow trees are all around too and the sweet chestnuts are positively glowing a pale orange. They almost emit their own light, I just wish I could get a good photo.

  2. I don’t know much about trees, only the short lesson we did for school. But the colors are AMAZING, I really should have taken more pictures.

The colors this year were incredibly vibrant, even here in Maryland. I remember how it was in New England – spectacular!

The leaves are falling quickly though. I’m not sure what that means.

Thanks for the lovely post, Ann. Also, thanks for the reminder to enjoy the fall colors.
