Cleanup This Christmas

Storage Gift Ideas from Ikea

storage gift ideas

Is it just me or are you too not all that excited about bringing more stuff into the house this Christmas? Of course you can use the opportunity to purge things you are not using or at least stow some things in the attic or basement but if you are feeling like your family already has everything they need you may want to consider giving the gift of storage this Christmas. Sure all the gifts look so nice under the tree but then what? If you gift some storage items this dilemma goes away! I decided to visit Ikea online for inspiration…

Here is what I found…

  1. Shelving unit: this system is all wood and really affordable; great for a rec room or pantry ($30)
  2. Portable Basket: this would be so nice for play scarves, etc. ($8)
  3. Wall knobs: I love hooks for organizing; these are safer than hooks and decorative ($8)
  4. Knit baskets: great for organizing bath items ($10)
  5. Toy storage: I have had my eye on this system for a long time; bins come in a few sizes and several colors ($114)
  6. Storage crate: We have a couple of these and they are so handy; we use them for trains and Playmobil; don’t forget the lid ($6, $2)
  7. Square basket: I thought these would be nice for small toys or board books; add a few to the shelving unit ($8)

Okay so maybe don’t get all storage items for your kids and husbands. I don’t want to be the cause of pouty faces and tears but sprinkle some in here and there and I bet everyone will be happy long after Christmas morning.
