Scarf Ornaments

craft stick scarf ornaments

I’m making scarves for Christmas! Not the time consuming warm knit practical kind, but ones for my tree that are fun to design and easy to make! Want to make some too? All you need are tongue depressors, tissue paper, decoupage medium, and string or ribbon for hanging them (I used embroidery floss which I attached with craft glue). Then create your design using tissue paper. For each layer of tissue, apply a layer of medium with a brush to the stick then the tissue then another coat of medium. Creating the fringe is a little tedious but really makes them look like scarves.  I stacked a bunch of pieces of tissue paper and cut all the fringe at once with a craft knife. Then attach just the boarder with decoupage medium so the fringe stays loose.
