Spring Chime

Easy Tin Can Wind Chimes

Tin Can Wind Chimes

Let’s make wind chimes to greet the spring!

I made a simple one of three different size cans. The big one is from a 28 oz can of ground tomatoes, the middle one was a 16 oz can of diced tomatoes, and the little one was a 6 oz can of tomato paste (I made salsa if you are wondering). Next I hammered a hole in the bottom center of each can and strung them together with cord. To keep them spaced evenly I threaded a bead through and knotted the cord (see image). I learned the hard way to keep the knots loose until you have the placement just right. I also decorated the cans with washi tape like this (which I found on sale at Staples for a dollar each) and added a loop to the top of the cord for hanging.

Clank, clank, rattle, rattle, welcome spring!

    • Thanks! Homemade salsa is great because you can customize it to how you like it and I am sure it saves money to make it yourself.
