I Spy Brown-headed Cowbirds

Brownheaded Cowbirds

I have been seeing lots of cowbirds on lawns lately. And they seem to be up to no good. They target other species of birds to parent their eggs and they can lay up to three dozen eggs in a summer! If the birds don’t agree to sit on the cowbird’s egg the cowbird will retaliate! I wrote a story about them here.

    • I know, I am a little obsessed with trying to figure them out! Personally I think they are missing out on all the joys of parenting.
