Dolphin Printable

My parents live in Naples, Florida in the cold months. We almost always take a break from winter and visit them in February. One year we waited until April to go and the swimming was unbelievable! The water was so warm that one day we stayed in for hours! The gulf coast water is also so perfectly clear and clean, completely unlike the water on Cape Cod where it can feel like you are swimming in seaweed stew! I am not sure if it was this trip or another that we saw so many dolphins swimming. You can often see them but on one particular trip there was a group of dolphins swimming so close to us that I felt one rush by me! It was amazing but a little scary at the same time.

Dolphins are my inspiration for today’s mini-printable! Print out the following three page PDF: dolphin set on 3X5 blank index cards. If you don’t have unruled you can used the backs of ruled ones. When printing from Adobe Reader make sure to select “actual size” and “choose paper source by PDF page size” under “Page Size & Handling” in the printer dialog box. Once it is printed, you can color the elements, cut out the water, ball, and dolphin, then attach the water with a glue stick just along the bottom and sides to create a pocket. Then add your dolphin to the water pocket and watch him play with the ball!

Dolphins are amazing animals. Have you ever seen them make and play with air rings? Check this out!

We will surely be doing some swimming this summer (since we live on Cape Cod and it is like mandatory)! How about you? Do you live close to the beach? Please share!

    • I totally hear ya! You have 4 to keep an eye on! I am only just starting to be comfortable with it since my kids are a little older and can both swim. Still I like to go later in the day when there are less people (so I can see my kids easier) and the sun is low and we don’t have to worry too much about sunscreen. I also like swim shirts for less exposure.
