Bird Play

I saw the cutest thing this morning on my walk. There were several house sparrows playing in a chain link fence by the basketball courts I passed. They would fly into a space and appear to get stuck, wait a moment or two, then pop through and fly away. They kept doing it so I know they were playing a game. I don’t think I have ever seen birds doing something just for fun before. I wasn’t close enough to see if they were juvenile but I would like to think they were. It was nice to see!

  1. Saw your comment and the title of today’s post on Mia’s link. I was curious and not disappointed that I stopped. What a fun story! I had a black bird fly into our window last week and had to watch him die. Broke my heart.

    • Thanks for stopping by Patricia. I’m glad you like my story.
What a sad story, poor birdie!

    • I saw all your pictures on FB. I love visiting Sturbridge! I haven’t been there since we moved to the Cape.

  2. Birds are fun to watch- we currently have some living in a birdhouse that Christian made but never put a perch on. He tried to put one on but the wood started to split and we got so stressed that the birds would be upset. :)

    • Oh wow! I love seeing hummingbirds. I think I need more flowers to attract them and butterflies too.
