Fall Happenings

giant mushrooms

I normally don’t notice mushrooms when I am driving but these were giant mushrooms!

sassafras leaves in fall

The leaves of the smaller sassafras trees are turning fall colors.

dancing leaf

And some leaves are beginning to maker their graceful descent.

bog harvest

We passed by cranberries being harvested. The cut cranberries float in the flooded bog and are then corralled.

white turkey

We have also been seeing a white turkey around town. The coolest part of this is that it helps us recognize the same group in different locations and let me tell you these turkeys get around! Reminds me too of a great book we picked up at a Scholastic book fair called WHITE TAILS AND OTHER WHITE TALES written by the second grade students of Longfellow Elementary School.

We have also been seeing some Lullaby Boats! So as you can see things are pretty exciting around here. What are you seeing? Please share!
