DIY Art Kit with Printable

Art Kit Ideas

Mr. Doodles and Jots adopted a family for the holidays with his team at work. For some reason I don’t like the sound of adopting a family. If they are a family they don’t need adopting but I guess that is besides the point. They have three girls and along with other things they all asked for crafting supplies so I volunteered to put together kits. I had so much fun doing it and they turned out so nice I thought I would share them here along with the printable nameplates I made. This is a great gift idea if you want to add a handmade touch and give something that will get used and be fun. When you build your own kit you can also find quality things to include. I got most of my art kit ingredients at Ikea and a few at the Dollar Tree but I have also included an Amazon shopping list in this post (with a few changes based on what I could find) in case you don’t live near these stores.

And don’t forget the printable nameplates! Print the following PDF: Art Kit Labels on label paper, cut them out, and affix to bins.

I spent a total of $16 per kit and I think they are great as is but I may add a small sketchbook to each before I wrap them up. It is just so nice to draw on quality paper, even kids can appreciate this. And I may have to make one more trip to Ikea before Christmas. My kids are looking longingly at these!

    • Thanks Jeanette. That was honestly the hardest part! I wouldn’t mind taking more time to create the perfect kit and with more money.
