We are big rock fans here at Doodles and Jots. Rocks are fun and free, even gems, if you are lucky enough to find them in nature! There are some pretty cool rocks right here on Cape Cod but this summer we are planning something big. We are traveling far and wide to find some of the most exotic rocks on earth!
It is going to be both fun and educational. By observing these rocks and gems we hope to learn a little bit about our earth’s history and what people value.
It is going to be an adventure! You might be wondering how we are going to manage so much travel when we have many other commitments this summer like swimming lessons and Sunday dinner at Grandmas. Well in addition to rocks we also love virtual travel. We are planning to combine the educational resources available to us both at our local library and online and utilize our powerful imaginations to bring these adventures to life.
Sounds fun right?! Why not join us? Come on by Doodles and Jots every week in July and August to read through our travel journal. Think you might forget? Why not subscribe to email updates? Don’t get left behind! Subscribe here.
Okay then, so long for now, we really have to get packing. See you in a few weeks for our first update.

Would you like to learn about rock formation and types? LET’S GO ROCK COLLECTING is our favorite book on the subject.
ROCKS HARD, SMOOTH, AND ROUGH is a good one too. I love the rock texture art!
And A ROCK CAN BE is fun, informative, and part of a series that includes A LEAF CAN BE which I reviewed here.
