"Forest Tent" felt-tip pen on marker paper

Yesterday was ones of those cold crisp bright sunny days when your back is hot and your face is cold.  My children are just starting to be able to play in the backyard by themselves with lots of rules and of course I check on them constantly.  Their favorite thing lately is to play in “the forest” which is a small patch of woods with some lower broad trees that are perfect for climbing and creating an imaginary world.

When I go in the woods my reality too is altered.  No wonder so many popular fantasy stories have forest settings.  Continue reading →
