Building Letters

DIY Letter Construction Activity

Doodles and Jots has its first guest post today!  Please join me in welcoming Crab, Crab, Fish who has a very fun and education game to share.  Check it out…

If you are into building stuff than you will like this activity!

What you’ll need…  a handful of popsicle sticks and string (we used yarn).  Have your mom cut a couple of the popsicle sticks in half and one at the 2/3rds mark with a utility knife.  Cut a few lengths of string (one at 12 inches and two at 6 inches).  And then start building!

International Book Giving Day

Happy Valentine’s Day AND International Book Giving Day!  I have been enjoying the build up to Valentine’s Day with a bunch of Valentine’s themed posts.  Here’s a few…

I have also been excited about International Book Giving Day because it provided the motivation I needed to create my first eBook!  It included 19 fun, illustrated, mostly one word Doodles and Jots rhyming stories.  It has been something I have wanted to create for a while and when I read this post about International Book Giving Day from Mommy Labs I decided it would be the perfect way for me to participate in International Book Giving Day!

It looks great on my iPhone Adobe Reader app!  Read it in waiting rooms with babies or pre-readers!  And if you like it please share this post!  You can also download it at Pragmatic Mom’s International Book Giving post.  Read too about the great ways she is participating with book donations.

By the way, the Doodles and Jots gang is on vaca in Florida!  We drove down from Massachusetts a day early on the front end of the blizzard and we got out just before they closed I95!  It made for a real adventure!  The extra day also afforded us a stop in DC where we all enjoyed a visit to the Smithsonian Museum of American Art.

I had fun passing the time by creating an Instagram travel log here.  If you are not on Instagram, don’t worry, I am planning a recap here later this week.
