The other day I saw a star shaped red star balloon escaping in the sky. Later I drove by an open house with the same red balloons out front. Even so I couldn’t help but be reminded of one of childhood’s biggest disappointments.
Along with your ice cream scoop toppling off its cone and onto the ground, accidentally letting go of a balloon is right up there with the major tragic events of childhood!
Cold induced hives a time not to forget
I’ve never heard of it. Last week we had some very cold days and my daughter was complaining of itchy feet. They looked red and I told her to put on slippers. The next day it was her hands. She told me at school she noticed she had “fat fingers”. I looked at them and they did look red and swollen. Since my 6 year old daughter already has her Valentines made up, I thought I better get my act together and start my Valentine’s preparation!
Today I am sharing an easy to make heart garland. It is versatile and you only need construction paper, staples, and scissors. You can also use an Xacto knife to cut the strips which makes cutting faster and more accurate. You can create a vertical or horizontal version. I also made some singles to just play with, stack, and have fun arranging. You will need several sheets of construction paper (2 or more colors) and lots of staples! Continue reading
