Farewell Fall
* * *
This post is linked up with Maui Shop Girl’s Photo Post Challenge. This weeks theme is black and white.
It’s also linked up with What’s the Word? Wednesday at Frankly My Dear!
Hurry-cane
The wind might be in a big hurry outside but we have slowed things down quite a bit inside with lots of storm watching, home cooked meals, and cozy time!
Amazingly we still have power after a full day of that! For me, hurricanes are mostly exciting and sometimes a little scary. When I was outside taking this video I heard a loud crack and saw a large limb break off a neighbor’s tree. All these tree are still standing but probably won’t have any leaves left by this time tomorrow!

Pink
Leaves again! I almost included this one yesterday but it was from a different day, different light. Then I saw Maui Shop Girl’s photo post challenge this week was “pink”.
I just has to link up with this!
It’s pink, right?! It’s not a perfect photo but it does prove, I think, that pink can be a fall color!
Do you like pink? Please share!

Ann ♥’s the larch tree
It was love at first site when I saw this tree in my sister’s neighborhood on a post-Thanksgiving dinner walk last year. It is deciduous and a conifer. It has cones and it loses its needles in the fall which makes for quite a striking sight in the cold months. Continue reading
Happy Trees
I’ve noticed the trees are busy budding all around.
Things seem simple for trees. They need food which they amazingly make for themselves through photosynthesis. So first they make leaves.
We need food too. And like trees we must plan ahead. But we are not capable of making our own food by soaking up the sun. If we are thirsty we can’t stand there with our mouths open waiting for it to rain. Continue reading
